Re: [RC] Mohair reins? - Jo Anne Rudolph

My understanding on mohair reins (seem to be used a lot with bosals) is they are scratchy so that when you neck-rein the horse, the horse will feel the contact on its neck, and move away from the scratchy feel.

Hi all - anyone out there using mohair reins? I know
my horse loves his mohair girth, and I'm curious about
how soft and comfy mohair reins are. Do they get all
pilly/fuzzy? Are there different degrees of quality in
the mohair used? Kristi iluvdez at yahoo dot com
