I've not had any mini's but there is a popular trail near here that has some 
in a bordering pasture.  In my limited experience in riding this trail alone 
and with groups, the first few times a regular horse sees a mini, they 
FREAK--they don't know what to think of the little guys!!  After a couple 
encounters, they are fine but most of the folks I know, dismount and lead by 
the mini's until their horses are accustomed, for what it is worth that is 
my experience.
