[RC] Cruppers or not - Diana Peterson

Hi

I would like to add my two cents.

I found that if i had a saddle that fit really well...( in my case a Sharon Saare ) ...and i use a 100 % wool pad... my saddle does not move one bit.

We tried this on my friends saddle an arabian Soltice , she rides endurance in a dressage saddle. After we used a wool sheepskin under her saddle ...her saddle also does not move ... it used to when she mounted ...but not anymore.

According to Sharon S. the wool of the sheepskin and the hair on the horses back kind of interlock.

My gelding never felt better under me, trotting him out. Up and down hills.

the great thing about 100 % wool... it does not slip at all, wicks away moisture. When i rode in the tacky tack pads i had lots more problems with rolling saddles.
I can ride Big Mineral without even a breastcollar.

Diana :-)
