RE: [RC] Old horse - impaction - Jannelle Wilde & Adam Falk

Had it work with a displacement, which, from my understanding is what it will usually work on.  A colic that is from a displacement is like having a fold in the intestines.  Anyway, we did a 30 minute ride and no good so had the vet out and did a belly tap, etc, and gave good meds.  Then drove her to the nearest university for surgery and after the meds and a two hour drive, she’d “unfolded”.

Don Huston wrote "put him in a trailer and take a drive," as a potential help for impaction.  Several cowboys I have talked with recently have brought up this method for helping with colic of undetermined source.
