You also might want to contact some local riding schools and see if there is an advanced rider that doesn't have a horse. I lease two of my horses out to two local students from a riding school. They are great riders, take EXCELLENT care of the horses, and have the opportunity to enjoy all 'right's of ownership' that they would normally not have the advantage of doing so.
