Re: [RC] CTR for newbies - Jo Ann KnightDyane I agree with you about the beginners starting with CTR. I did a NATRC long time ago before my horse went lame and was retired. Now that I have found a person who did a miracle for her, I am planning to get back to the trails next year and will start with NATRC. I know rules and such can be a bummer to some people. But they do the best they can to design a vehicle for people to learn how to pace their horse. To put the horse first and learn the safe ways to finish a ride. I don't know about jumping out at riders from hiding. But my mare told me where the judges were that were hiding along the trail to see if we were doing things correctly! I would wave, even though I couldn't see them myself! We got a decent score of our first time out and I hope to be seeing if we have improved when I start out again.
