This was on another group I belong to and I thought it might be important information for anyone crossing over into canada to make sure their health certificates are under 30 days old ...

Brent and 5 other cowboys crossed Sunday about 1am to go to Ontario for a IPRA rodeo..... Their health papers, coggins, vaccination record was checked ...and they were sent on their merry way.....

8pm...SAME DAY coming back to the US... they are again asked for papers....they hand them over..... the border patrol tells them that all of their papers are fine, except...that the 30 day health certificate..... that was drawn on July 28.....(should be good until August 28th)

is expired......

What.?? the border patrol tells them that since July had 31 days....that it expired...

They tell the guy that they want to speak with someone in charge.....they are detained for over 2 hours...horses in the trailer....

they ask for a fax, or a vets number..... some help.... etc.....

they are treated like common criminals.... and at 10:45pm.....DEPORTED to Canada......... LOL

where the Canadians are very kind...calling a vet....calling a few stables.... Canadians tell them that they are not sure what they can do to help them..... but to come back at 9am this am..... and talk to the border vet......

couldn't find a vet, nor a stable.... soo they had to leave the poor horse in a 2 horse trailer all night.....

So..... hubby is officially a "Canadian" ..HAHAHAH

he is on his way back to the border to see what they can do........ sigh....

any of the Canadians on the list want to adopt 4 cowboys...and one horse....LOL

anyway...just wanted to share that story...about crossing with horses.....
