Yes, everyone competes for the individual medals, and the designated teams are 
an additional facet of the event. A particular item of note for this WEC; the 
large number of teams which completed 3 members! The 2004 WEC had 4 teams 
compete. The team medal strategy - finish 3 members! This time you had to 
finish three members AND go fast!
