[RC] Patriot's Day Ride Update - Centella Tucker

Please note that the trails this year are easier than in the past. The US Forest Service has closed the area with the tough trail because it is close to a Native American sacred site. So spend your weekend in scenic northern California and ride with us.

The Rotary Club of Greenville, CA announces the third annual Patriot’s Day Endurance Ride will be held September 9th and 10th, 2006. The Ride is now a two-day, AERC sanctioned event, with both 25-mile and 50-mile routes Saturday and Sunday.

The trail has been changed significantly this year as a portion of the trails used previously have been blocked due to the proximity to sacred Native American sites. The scenic aspects of the ride have been maintained in its new trails; the new route is not as difficult as past rides, making this a good ride for beginning horse and rider.

The ride camp is at Coppercreek Summer Camp just two hours from Reno, Chico, and Red Bluff. Greenville is only 3 hours from Sacramento and 4.5 hours from the San Francisco Bay Area. Families of riders have many activities available for their day in ride camp.

Proceeds from the ride help support the Rotary Club of Greenville in its community service endeavors. An additional raffle will benefit the Veteran’s Guest House of Reno, NV that supports families of veterans who have medical procedures in the VA Hospital.
