I would say that the only place the outcome is really affected is by the rider being able to continue and finish the ride. The horse may be slightly affected by the rider being more comfortable and being able to ride in a more balanced way as opposed to leaning this way or that to take pressure off a sore part of the body...Any athlete has pain...I wonder if Ibuprofen type drugs are prohibited in competition for bikers runners etc...if not why are we even discussing it...or are we bored...me home today sick....typing like a madwoman on ridecamp :)
