Re: [RC] Tevis Low Completion - Barbara McCrary

As a teenager, I had a Morgan mare. I used to ride to the beach near my home, pull the saddle, leave it on the sand and ride into the ocean and swim along parallel to the beach. It was such fun! I think if I knew then what possible harm could have come from swimming in the ocean, I would have been afraid, but I was clueless and happy. A friend rode her QH mare into the ocean and the mare struck out for China. She finally got the mare turned around and back ashore, but she was scared for awhile.

Good luck. Water is more of an Arab thing, but then I think Morgans were
developed using Arabian blood in the beginning. Recessive genes? Genetic

Now muck and mud, no the Morab hated that. She swam, loved to go into
irrigation ditches, well I got her in them, and she loved to splash till
both of us looked like we'd taken a shower.
