[RC] The Horse's Perogative - rides2far

I raised a 3/4 Welsh, 1/4 TB pony for my daughter to do endurance. He
disliked the trail more than any horse I have ever seen. He was sour on
the trail, sulked when he had to go up a hill, just generally not happy.
However, you could take the same pony to a ring and he'd be happy. Total
opposite to all my others. I sold him 2 years ago to a jumping barn and
within just 2 or 3 months he went reserve champion at a pretty fancy
show. He's been winning right and left ever since. Loves it. He's
probably worth 10 times what I sold him for now but he was *not* worth
much as a trail horse! Just got another update on him yesterday with a
link to his latest photo:

" He won the pony hunter classic, was reserve champion large pony (would
have been champion, but someone is a ham and bucks at the end of his
first course when the applause rings out for an otherwise flawless
performance --"

Endurance is great, but it's *not* the pot of gold at the end of the
rainbow for *all* people & horses. Personally, I don't understand why,
:-) But to each his own.
