I'm thinking of getting a HAF pad to use on 50 mile rides and didn't realize until just recently that you have a choice of the material on the pad. What do you who use the pad get for the bottom of the pad that goes on the horse? Is the sympanova or wool material the best. I think the sympanova would help with saddle slipping but not sure about heat build up etc. I'll be putting it under a winted dressage saddle. Any ideas? I wanted to ask Karen Chaton since she has had good luck with the HAF pad but didn't have her correct email address. Thanks and happy trails, Kathy Crothers

Hi Kathy -- I've still been using my HAF pad and still really like it. I've hosed it down to clean it a few times between rides and think it has been holding up really well. The bottom on mine is a red material. It does help with stability but it also seems to keep the horses cooler, which is great. I've always liked woolback pads too, but I think that this is even better. Hope that helps. Karen
