Re: [RC] shifting trailer mats - Lauren E. Reitz

I put two nails through my mats and into the wood flooring at the rear lip of the trailer in the outside corners. Just check them periodically to be sure they haven't started popping up. Securing the rear mat should keep the others in place if they are thick and heavy enough to not ride up over the secured one.

Subject: [RC] shifting trailer mats

Does anyone know of a way to stop trailer mats from shifting out of place? I have a 2H slant load, stock type with removable wall for tack room (up front), with 2 full mats across the back, a short piece to make everything fit, and a curved piece that fits up front. The horses' weight & movement cause the mats to shift out of place, sort of sliding to the rear, where they then curl up a bit. It's much worse when I try to use shavings or dust falls out from the feed bags. Any suggestions?
