[RC] FW: Question on TI's article Carbs in Performance Horses - Randy or Cheryl Winter

Title: FW: Question on TI's article Carbs in Performance Horses
Subject: Question on TI's article Carbs in Performance Horses

I have read part of the article that was posted on RC 7/6 an d in the end of it it said thatYou need to be consistent in the feed no light 1/2 feeding days.  You need to avoid days off.  Most of the competitive endurance riders I know give their horses 2 days off in between training days and a week for every 25 miles in competition.  Any comments on that.  Is it only a local thing to give the horses that much time off?  Or was TI only talking about other sports such as track racing.  Is that different?  Thanks for knowledgable input.  Please only those who really know a scientific answer comment.  Lisa
