[RC] Horses in Middletown - Some truth please! - Alan Kay
I went with my wife (her 2nd visit) to see these horses yesterday. She actually purchased one of the stallions. A lot of what has been said on ridecamp is simply not?true. There are a few people working very hard to get theses horses out of there and I believe they have succeeded in about half so far. Contrary to what has been posted, most of these horses are in decent shape. Most are a bit thin with some wormy bellies, but only a few are in very poor condition. Almost all of the horses have fantastic looking feet - I only saw 2 or 3 with real foot problems. Most of the horses are not wild - some will run away from people, but most range from able to halter to at least allowing some petting. There are some that will take work to capture, but that is the exception rather than the rule. They all have fly problems. Some have abrasions and only one stallion has a serious infection (I believe Sydni and Melissa took that one away last night). None are near death and again, only a few appear to have serious health issues. Many of these horses will be gorgeous once cleaned up, fed, wormed and rested! And some of the babies are to die for! Theresa has papers on some of these horses and knows the breeding on some others.
I am not trying to diminish the seriousness of this situation, but I don't believe rumor, exaggeration and dramatic?innuendo help!
