[RC] easyboot opinions? - lisa oberteuffer

hey guys:

I have been riding in pre-2005 easy boots, and generally they fit my horse quite well. also I like being able to undo the screw and make the inside strap a little smaller if necessary.

however--on our last ride we managed to de-boot a total of five times, including one exciting episode complete with bolting! when the two rear boots (attached with ankle straps for the first time, since I decided I didn't want to have to go back and look for them) came off and began snapping at his ankles like alligators ...

so I am considering going for epics or bares, for a bit more security. I don't usually mind jumping off and re-booting and/or going back to look for them, but we are speed-challenged and need to use all our time in forward motion, if possible.

so does anyone have strong opinions on either? before I spend $200? :) I did look at the newer boots and was sad to see that the inside strap is no longer adjustable--maybe that's why they resized them? we will now be wearing different sizes front & rear, instead of a single size, with the inside strap smaller on the rear. oh well ...

thanks for your input--feel free to email off the list if this is not a topic of general interest. address is volta at nets dot com.
