[RC] Saddle fit/leathers - Alissa Cowan

My very favorite leathers ever are my current pair on my flat little hunt seat saddle. They are made with "half holes" for very fine adjustment, so you don't typically run in to the "between the holes" problem. Love them!

Angie, what are these spectacular ultimate adjust leathers you are raving about? Explain how they work?

Alissa

This is something that has just occured to me *embarassed shrug*. I rode English for years (always with instructors who would suggest that I shorten or lengthen leathers accordingly). When I started riding Western, I learned to adjust my stirrups to one length and I just left them there. Now that I've started training riding rather than just leisure riding, I'm starting to realize what a difference it can make! Also, I've found that riding different horses can make a difference in where I want my stirrups. I've been experimenting with different lengths at different speeds and so on - and boy, are you right about the holes! It is so frustrating to find that the perfect length is actually right in between holes! Urgh! I'm looking for an endurance saddle now, and after being *sure* I wanted Western style fenders on it, I am now changing my mind and looking for something with more adjustment in it!
