[RC] cutting roundbales - L gin

Gosh, need to keep that spellcheck on-writing much to fast as I am going out the door! ;0)

If you put the roundbales on the flat side. and cut the strings (you should have it under some kind of cover , 'cause rain can get in easier if on the flat side------------ You can literally unroll the hay in nice neat flat pieces.------But heaven forbid if you try to take it off on the round side. You willl only get a 2 foot piece at a time an it gets smaller and smaller like a triangle after a few inches.
Then you have to wrestle that sucker with your shoulder and if you played football, (I didn't , girls weren't allowed too!!!--but I WAS the Only KIckball captain who was allowed to play on the playground;0)-- You dive right into it and knock it off the rest of the roll--now you have a core left that usually rolls downhill into the creek and a" flatbed of hay" that you can now peel off----if you are lucky , you will see the occasional fireant nest-- walmart baggie-- in in one case, 14 golfballs (scratch my head on that one , it was Alabama hay... ;0)-- ( I really love Alabama , it is beautiful, all jesting aside).
It is true , it will get mucky around the bales if raining , so I move mine around. But I'd like to make a wooden ring I could take apart on some kind of latches or something-- that is just 2-3 feet high. The horse rings have a solid side and not sure the donkey could get hay in those , and the arabs can't reach that far. I am debating those above ground ones-- but really don't like any of them.. With 4 and and the donk , peeling off is too much work and I am allergic to grasses so I 'd have to shower and wear long sleeves.
I do save about 30% in hay costs . And where I am moving is next door to hay fields. ;0) (can I pickum or what ?)
The price here is anywhere from 25.00-60.00 a bale (Bermuda Orchard grass or Fescue mix) (Atlanta metro) and I have heard some buy it out of th efields for 15.00-20.00 --I go pick some up from a barn - And bales can be 4 ft or 5 ft. etc. A 5 ft lasts 7-10 days depending on if I have grass at all. I also feed beet pulp and oats and some senior to the old guy.
