[RC] Big Horn 100 GPS Track Logs - tom noll

Greetings:

Please contact me off-list if you are riding the Big Horn 100 this summer
and you desire the GPS track logs.  The GPS track logs are in Garmin format.
I use the Garmin MapSource Topo software which is based on the USGS 1 by 2
degree sheets with a 1:250,000 scale.  The track logs were recorded with
either a Garmin eTrex Legend (2003 and 2004) or a Garmin eTrex Legend C
(2005).

The track logs contain the location of the trails as well as the vet check
locations and the base camp location.  The tree cover in some portions of
the trail precludes an accurate track log.  There are some inaccuracies on
the final few miles in 2005 because I had been out so long that my GPS was
loosing power.  The 2003 and 2004 tracks were run in a clockwise direction
whereas 2005 was run counter-clockwise.  Please note that I have used a GPS
in nearly all of my endurance rides and the GPS has always undermeasured the
mileage (I believe that the undermeasure of the mileage is the direct result
of measuring a curve with straight line segments).
