Re: [RC] So if I wanted an endurance Arab, how would I find outmore? - Diane TrefethenActually, one of the best places to look for an Endurance prospect is a show barn. Just tell them when you arrive that you are looking to spend under $1000 and "just want an Arab because they are so people friendly". At first they will blanch and say they don't have anything that cheap. So, ask if you can walk around and look at their beautiful horses. They always say yes. After a while it will come up that they have an unstarted young horse or two that isn't proving suitable for the show ring. CONTAIN YOUR ENTHUSIASM and sympathize, ask what's wrong with the horse (usually nothing physical or health wise), ask to see it. Very often, despite the best attempts by the show breeders to produce nutcase, mindless, flat-crouped gazelles, their Arabians actually breed true and you'll see a youngster that looks more like an elephant than a gazelle. GRAB HIM, but not too enthusiastically.=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
