It's true a gelding can't breed on, but I think that registering a 
gelding is proof that the horse is cared for, respected and honored. 
Think of all the arabian geldings that have done well in endurance.  If 
they are registered, their achievements can contribute to the breed 
history and speak to the quality of their bloodlines and to the 
expertise of their breeders.
