Re: [RC] Who won the Michigan Ride? - Donna CossYes, Joe won and received best condition. Good for him as he had to ride all winter in northern Illinois through, ice, snow, mud and frigid temps. Not easy to condition a horse in thisclimate. LARIBO a few years age, was a winning dressage mount, going up to 3rd or 4th level.. He is a tall Arab gelding, about 16 h.h. with good conformation. beckeg@xxxxxxx wrote: I think Joey Mattingly won the 100. It was hot in the UP, got upto 85 degrees in the afternoon. Most unusual. The trail had everything the upper peninsula has to offer, bogs, mud, sand, stones, stones under the sand, single track through the woods, two tracks, cool mornings, hot afternoons, biting flies and bugs that fly up your nose. The horses looked great. I heard that there were a pack of 12 at the end and they crossed the finish line around 6:15 PM. Ride start was 5:30. Since is was FEI, they had them parked far away from us peons who did the 25 & 50. We did go down and look at licence plates to see who was the farthest. Maine and Florida. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
