didn't sound as if he had a chip on his shoulder to
me until he didn't feel really welcome. if i'd come in under that apparent
cloud i'd probably have wanted to prove something, too (if he even did).

well, keith, it sounds to me like you kind of came into this
"race" (ride) with a chip on your shoulder and something to
prove. i ride "other" breeds also, but i dont shove that
fact down fellow riders' throats. it isnt "us" versus
"them".
just a bit of friendly man to man advice here, if you have a
great horse, you might do great things together, and OTHERS will do the
talking. that way, you dont have to.
