[RC] Libby and Quentin Llop in accident - Laura Hayes

Libby and Quentin and son Jessie (the one who rides the Haflinger) were in a car accident last night near Buffalo, NY.  Jessie was driving their Ford Taurus and was T-boned by another car who presumably ran a red light.  Jessie is ok, Libby suffered battery acid burns to her face and one eye, and had a shard of glass in the other eye.  It was hours and hours before she was treated in the ER, but hopefully she will heal without permanent problems.

Quentin, who is still using a wheelchair from a riding accident 14 months ago, and is mostly blind from that injury, suffered a fractured T-6.  Luckily, that is an injury that should heal without surgery in 3 months or so.  Quentin had just gotten to canter on his horse in the last couple days, but was advised not to ride for the healing period.

Lib can't see well for a bit, and was complaining that she couldn't read ridecamp, and worrying about riding the OD 100 in two weeks!  Mind you, this is the woman who rode a 50 just three months after having surgery to repair a broken T-7, so don't count her out!!

If you have ever ridden with Lib, you know you are a friend for life, so give her a call if you can.  Her number is 585-226-2380.  She can't read email very well, though I guess the boys could read to her, but a phone call would be really appreciated, I bet.

Be safe out there-
