I totally agree, Christina! I believe that part of a saddle's function is to protect the horse from the rider's movements and the rider from the horse's movements. So its even more important for a heavyweight rider to have a supporitive saddle. By that I mean a saddle with a tree. That's just my opinion; I know there are plenty of heavyweight riders using treeless saddles but for most of us, since we're not the best balanced and athletic riders out there, a tree protects our horse from us better than a treeless saddle does.
