[RC] what type of saddle? - Tara M Sheppard

Hi all,
I need help in finding a saddle that will work for me. I have a
Standardbred gelding with a huge trot that will go into a pace
at the faster speeds. He is built uphill. When I (try) to post, It is
soooo sloppy. I feel that I just cannot get the right rhythm.
I feel that maybe I am always trying to post uphill because he is built
so uphill?
Should I try a saddle that is raised in the back? Something that tilts me
a bit forward?I prefer a western endurance type without a horn.
Also, he has a high wither and I have tried so many different
breast-collars on him and none seem to really work. The saddle just keeps
sliding back all the time. No matter how tight I tighten up the collar.
So, My question is: should I try a saddle that sits up in the back a bit?
I am so tired after riding this horse!
Thanks, Tara
