Re: [RC] Proud Flesh Knees - indiancp

once had a horse who absessed from a nail puncture in the sole of his foot.  the hole was pared out so it would drain and then later developed proud flesh.  our blacksmith used silver nitrate on it and that was the end of the proud flesh. first time i'd ever heard of it developing from the sole!!

I have never used silver nitrate to cauterize anything on a horse, but I know they are still using it on people.  It's pretty impressive to watch at work, but there is no sensation.
