What I do is feed hay on the ground in the muddy areas, then it reseeds the pasture. Come "spring" you'll have tons of lush green grass. Feeding whole oats is nice too... I don't feel bad about the horses "wasting" some, cuz they get to eat it later! Same thing with BOSS, and any other whole grain.

And if you feed whole flax, you get gorgeous blue flowers too!

Julie: Wet in Washougal, gazing longingly at seed catalogs, horses for sale that I can't afford and dont need, and wishing it wasn't as wet as a sponge, even on the hill!
