Credit for miles completed. Yes, there has to be some insurance of success. The
goal is to enter the 100 mile ride or the 50 mile ride. The insurance of success
is to get credit for completing 25 miles of the 50 entered. Then, in the 100
mile, the insurance of success is to get credit for completing 50 or 75 miles
of that distance entered. Success is a measure of succeeding. A measureable
outcome. Therefore, a credit/award for having succeeded at a measurable
outcome. Then, you are taking care of your horse and yourself and enjoying the
ride. Money paid to ride management is not lost. After all, there was a
successful finish at your chosen distance. Buddy
