I really believe that this newbie just did not know the rules.  And 
being "paced" is the furthest thing from her mind.  She just wants the 
company of someone she knows and trusts.  It is really too bad that she 
hasn't found an AERC mentor and/or doesn't realize that it isn't hard to 
find someone to ride with at most rides.  It's also too bad it didn't 
occur to her to just pay her friend's ride entry so they could ride 
together.  I hope it works out for her and that someone will taker her 
under their wing and help her learn how to do things.  She really wasn't 
trying to cause trouble and went to some effort to try to find out if 
what she wanted to do would be allowed.  She got quite a bit of 
incorrect advice along the way.
