Re: [RC] anybody know the answer to this? - Laney Humphrey

I made exactly those points to her. Unfortunately, I think she and her friend had already left for the ride by the time I replied. We may think ride fees are high but they do cover a lot of services we hope we never need. In addition to the legality of it, riding along side seems like an imposition on already overworked and underpaid ride personnel because, as you say, they aren't likely to turn their backs on someone who needs help. It'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

This newbie thinks that since the ride is in a national park and the trails aren't closed, that it will be ok. Anyone know if having >>>a non-entered horse ride along side you during a ride is allowed?

Tell them here's another hypothetical question...what if her unentered friend's horse gets in trouble and needs fluids? What if the unentered rider comes off and breaks a leg? What if the horse is lost? ..should management help them out, arrange her rescue, or provide vets to treat the horse? It would be very hard for them to turn their back on someone. To me it's well worth the entry to have that support system out there ready to help out.
