The catcher on my daughter's high school softball team has hydracephalus and has shunts. She wears her catcher's helmet & mask on defense and batting helmet on offense. She plays in travel leagues over 100 games a year and just got a scholarship to play in college. She's a pretty tough kid, never complains.
