[RC] Hard to Shoe Mare - Alissa Cowan

Drin,

Has your friend called a vet? A lot of times the reluctance to pick up hind feet is because of pain - a locking stifle, fused hocks, or a bunch of other things that I wouldn't be able to name, as I am not a vet.

It doesn't seem productive to just drug a mare to shoe her, if the problem is really pain. Might help all parties involved to get a vet out there, when the farrier is out there, to check it out?

Alissa

Dianne has a very hard to shoe mare , fine on the fronts and a nightmare with the hinds . She says she has worked hours and hours with just picking up the hinds and working with them with no results when it is time to shoe
