Dynamite Tranquil worked well for me when I first started my gelding with 
the shoer. I used alot the first 2 or 3 shoeings, then decreased each time 
until he now needs nothing. It is an herbal sedative, the effects of which 
are dissapated within about 30 min, so continued use during the shoeing was 
necessary. I sprayed it liberally on alfalfa leaf that I shook out of my 
grass/alfalfa hay. I was not able to spray directly into his mouth. It is so 
powerful, he dropped (could use it for cleaning his sheath easily).
