Very good post. This is exactly why I feel we should not target drug 
testing at "the front runners" or "BC candidates."  There is a lot more 
incentive out there than winning. Maybe the horse should be retired at 
4500 miles but the 5000 mile blanket is only 500 miles off.............

The pay check in this sport comes from many directions. We have a 100 
mile champion - the more 100's the better chance to win it. We have 
mileage awards and many other awards based on points or miles. In fact 
to some extent many of our awards are mileage based. Where should we be 
testing?????????
