no need to excuse yourself - that is where courtesy must work both ways.
What part of "please go ahead or stay behind" was not clear? Carelessness or
rudeness or even honest inexperience is no excuse when one has been asked to not
glom on. The idea of being put in harms way because of someone else's deaf ears
or their just plain selfishness - no excuse. If someone asks another rider to
please give them some space, it is a good idea to do just that.
