[RC] Angeles Ridge Ride - Terry BanisterIf you miss the old Sunland Ride, you now have The Angeles Ridge Benefit Ride, which will be hosting their First Endurance Ride on May 6th at the Hansen Dam Equestrian Facility. This may be a new Ride, but it is being run by veteran organizers who have been working together on the Sunland Ride for a lot of its 30 years - you can't get much more experience than that.The trails are a combination of the old Sunland Ride and the Old WaterHunt Ride. They are tough, as all the trails in our area are, with a lot of up and down, but its great training for those Tevis-bound horses. The weather should still be cool, and the hills are beautiful and green now. Basecamp is the same as the previous Sunland Ride, which is a wonderful equestrian facility at Hansen Dam. There will be water close by, and arenas for turnout. We hope you all help us by participating in a new ride in our area that will benefit two wonderful foundations; the Valley Vaqueros, who teach horsemanship and riding to "At Risk" inter-city kids, and the War Horse and Militaria Heritage Foundation, who promote the education of history, using horses as an ambassador (as seen in the 2006 Rose Parade).
