==========================================

So often we talk about the beautiful weather and scenery. So often we talk
about what a wonderful horse we have and how much we like our truck and
trailer. We like the completion award we receive and how well marked the trail
was. But you know what???? I think all the people that we share these times
with give me the most gratifying moments. This past week my wife wanted to go
to the Million Pines ride, but I could not go because of a scheduling conflict.
Since I could not be there to pit crew for her she decided not to go. Then on
wednesday a mutual friend e-mailed her, after she found out about Ruth Anne's
dissapointment, and said she was going with her to crew. Amanda has never gone
alone to crew before. She has always gone with her daughter, who is a junior
rider, and a group from Leatherwood Mountains. So this was a first for her. I
can not tell you how thrilled Ruth Anne and I were that Amanda showed up at our
barn at 6:45 a.m. friday morning to go to Soperton, Georgia. We loaded Pretty
Boy in the trailer and down the road they went. I was grinning from ear to ear.
It really gives me alot of satisfaction to see my wife so excited and happy. To
have such a wonderful person going with her made it even more gratifying.
Anyway, to make a long story short. Amanda did a wonderful job crewing for Ruth
Anne and met her at the finish line in tears celebrating their first place
finish together in the fifty. People make the difference!! Hug your crew today.
Mike
