[RC] Shagya National Ride - Shagyaarabs

Thanks, Kim, for your insight into the problem.

We do not have but one maybe two Shagya bred horses and riders on the Eastern shore that can do 50 miles competitively.  And we have rewarded those two riders and horses boucoup. In fact the one has opted to do the back to back 50's at this ride to make it a fair ride for the beginners.  This is a cup to reward the other horses and encourage them to come forward and participate.  Five of my stallion's get will be there.  I will ride with the first time riders and two of the other horses may race.  But I am looking to get my riders to finish.  I'm pretty sure the horses will be fit enough to make the 25 not sure about the riders.  We have to start somewhere so we are starting here.  Next year when it goes to the West, since there are a lot more Shagyas doing 50 miles, it will be for the 50 mile endurance ride.
Maybe it is a bad choice of language on our part and we should have called it a LD Championship instead.  The riders and horses that we are trying to reward don't know the difference.

The ASAV sponsored two AERC awards for the past three years presented at the awards banquet.  One high mileage and the other high point.  The same horse (Janos) won both in 2005.
