Re: [RC] [RC] Shoot the Clones - Not - Diane Trefethen - KimFue

I would hate to be the one to ruin a "free for all" on ridecamp.  I take back the suggestion of  "wait and see".  To keep this a free for all and endurance related....why not talk about what criteria would have to be present to clone one of our endurance horses....Better yet, let's actually discuss which endurance horses we would want cloned. I say only horses that Top Ten 90% of their rides and have at least one win.    No LD horses included.  Let's only do the pretty horses with nice heads and cute ears that meet this performance requirement because if they don't work out as performance horses at least they will be nice to look out in the pasture.  Bet we could see some chest thumping with that suggestion. OK, let's think of the positives.   At least endurance horses don't have to be registered.  Just think what you could do with a barn full of the right cloned horses.  Instead of selling one overseas for the big bucks you could have an entire cookie cutter operation to sell horses.  Better yet, I think we should take a bunch of cloned horses from the same horse and pass them out to some of our most well know riders and trainers and then have a big race 7 or 8 years down the road to see which trainer/rider made the most out of their "cloned" horse.  Everybody basically starts with the same horse and we could see who took "their" clone to it's highest potential....

OK Diane... how is this for a contribution to the free for all.  I think I have included it all....fluff, irrational ideas, enough issues to get a good chest thumping, emotional debate going for the weekend :)

Oh hiss, boo Kim! Here we had the makings of a really good anti-TI free-for-all, complete with fluff bunnyisms, irrational rhetoric, chest thumping appeals to emotion and prejudice and YOU GO AND RUIN IT ALL with a logical suggestion to take a wait and see attitude.
