It's going to be difficult, if not impossible, to keep those with more dollars than sense from cloning. But what *can* be done is for breed organizations to refuse to register clones, as the Jockey club and AQHA have done, AND for equine sports to prohibit clones and/or their offspring from competing in sanctioned events, whether those events be endurance, cutting, reining, racing, whatever. Making it impossible for clones/offspring of clones to be used for anything other than pasture ornaments or casual, non-competitive mounts would likely take some of the incentive away for cloning them in the first place.

I don't know about the Arabian registry, but I would assume they have the same regulations against cloning? Cloned animals have serious health flaws (not just the obvious ethical flaws!), and I doubt that the cloned horses will perform as well as their "source." And of course, don't forget environment and training... Every breed organization and equine sport should ban cloning. (I'm serious, too.)
