[RC] RC / scam/ads ?? - L gin

Yup=--I listen to Clark Howard--who is a consumer advocate--he talkes about these all the time. Skip the fishy ones--too big a gamble. People who are reading ridecamp ads. should be more "savvy" than the average horse person, don't you think?
BTW it is very easy now for overseas Scam artists to fake a certified check. He says don't take them anymore , unless you get it from someone you know at a bank you know. They are so good at forging them and MO, Checks etc. That the banks don't even know till it bounces.
I used to sell printing papers 25 years ago and they then said the copiers were getiing good enough to print money, and that was before the laser printers and such.
There are whole countries who now are "havens" for internet scam artists. Nigeria is a biggie, he said they have literal "cafes" where this is common. Also some former Eastern block and Russia have set up internet scams for thier new "capitalist" businesses.

I'd suggest waiting till a regular check clears or maybe a western union sire transfer (NOT to your account) maybe Paypal --(even they have some problems)
What ever you do --don't give them your bank account numbers or routing numbers.

(He says lock your check book up in a vault- 85% of identity theft is thru stolen checks --- I who used to use checks for eveything--but it they get your routing numbers and signature and most the time no one asks for id....you are cooked..loss of credit ability, possibly jail on mistaken charges, he has some stories on his website that are really bad. These days people steal checks out of mailboxes, and now clerks in stores ..... He suggest cash or credit card.......
Good luck.It is getting easier to buy things and really hard to sell them.
