Re: [RC] rope halter warning!!! - osberg

"I have to second Paddi here. Lost an awesome 4 year-old Morab when a trainer put a too-large rope halter on her and tied her. She got the side of the halter through her mouth, dislocated her jaw and paralyzed the left side of her face. The metal end got wedged in the space between the jaw and neck and punched a perfectly round hole through the skin, which got infected. The paralysis and infection spread despite our best efforts and her throat became paralyzed - she could no longer eat or drink and was humanely destroyed. I still use rope halters, but the appropriate size and no metal ends. Lani"

Thank you for sharing this!  I have heard about this type of risk when using a halter that was too large.
