Cindy, I don't have thousands of endurance miles, in fact I just started this
past year with 2 LDs and a CTR. After the first LD I decided I needed lessons
when my POA showed me a very impressive airs above ground manuever. I found a
good classical dressage instructor and since May I have been taking either
weekly or monthly lessons.

I have issues with cantering in arenas (couple of runaway concussions) but out
on the trail I have no problem so my instructor has me cantering up the long
side of the arena and trotting the short sides (still trying to "feel" the
leads) which wouldn't work on the trail as that isn't my fear zone.

I do practice what I learn in the arena on the trail and it helped quite a bit
at the CTR when for the first time I was able to start a ride with no "airs
above ground" moments. I can't wait to see if that will carry over to this
years season.
