Oh yes, people do want to know if their lost horse has been found dead somewhere. I ride with a gal who never really has gotten over the loss of a horse - because she is still "lost".
She would be greatly relieved to know what happened to her.
Maybe someone else knows, but I think there is a website or perhaps a yahoo group for people who are looking for lost horses.
