Arlene did a wrist a number of years back. Could not get an orthopod so rode one week end with it wrapped in an Ace Bandage. Then had it set and rode another ride with a "Hoffman Device" (external pins and steel brace) on the wrist. You only need one hand to wave with.

Subject: [RC] broken bone screws & returning to riding

there was some discussion recently about not returning to riding too soon after a bone break.

anyone have experience to share about whether/how this applies to having the bone screwed together after a break? (as in, theoretically, the screwing should alleviate any potential harm from starting back too soon, yes?)

thanks,
dabney
(yup, you guessed it: I do have a bone [wrist] about to be screwed...and cuyama's coming up....)
