Thanks Melody! I got a phone call saying it was all over RideCamp that I won the 100 :-)
Yes, there were quite a few of is First-timers at this ride. It seemed every other person I rode up with was doing their first 100 - or their horse was. It was a First 100 for both me and my horse. And it was a good choice for us because the weather was perfect and there were not a lot of hills.
I want to thank Kim Fuess for encouraging us to try it! She was exactly right about not needing a crew. I finished at 1 a.m. with no crew and managed to get five hours sleep before breakfast! And thank you, Melody, for sharing your spagetti dinner the night before :-) Guess what the $10 ride dinner was ;-) . Now if I had someone to bring me hot soup at a vet check like Kirsten had, plus a foot massage like I heard Dabney got, that really would have made it splendid!
