==========================================

The Louisianna Gumbo race was a hit this year. Although many were not there
(only 17 in the 55), the race continued as planned. Despite some of the stories
I heard from last years ride about the many holes and roots, I still decided to
go. The weather was great and so were the trails. Yes, there were holes and
roots but the holes were visible and the roots were technical yet manageable.
The trails consisted of one horse wide trails through the woodS...no roads only
road crossings and lots of places to water your horse. There were spotters for
difficult places and pie plates to direct the different mileages. All together
I believe that it was a well put together race and I plan on attending next
year.
