Nat, this is the kind of language that gets things started:

which was followed up with this:  This website has articles on bits, read and consider
if you care about your animal at all. Bits cause
problems that I never even thought about... And it
makes sense.

leading many readers to believe that your point was if you care about your animal, you will go bitless. That may not be what you meant, but that's the way it came across to me.
